UFC President Dana White has announced the first title fight for the UFC 300 card. Yan Xiaonan will challenge Zhang Weili for the Strawweight championship at the historic event. This showdown will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on April 13. In 2019, “Magnum” became the first Chinese fighter to capture a UFC title by defeating Jessica Andrade. She has only lost two fights in the UFC and those were against former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas.
Weili will make her second title defense
The UFC president boasted about Weili’s excellent finishing ratio, which includes 11 knockouts and 8 submissions in 24 wins. On the other hand, Yan scored a knockout win against Jessica Andrade in her most recent bout, extending her winning streak to two fights. “Fury Nine” made a great comeback after suffering two defeats to former champions Carla Esparza and Marina Rodriguez.
Zhang Weili is set to make her second title defense. Her most recent defense came against Amanda Lemos at UFC 292, where she scored the win via unanimous decision. She defeated Lemos in total strikes by a margin of 288 to 21, the largest margin in UFC women’s history.
Dana will make two more announcements on Thursday
UFC 300 is still without a headliner, but White has promised that he will announce at least two more bouts for the main fight card on Thursday. He previously announced on social media that former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka will face off against Alexander Rakic at the UFC 300 in Las Vegas. In addition, former Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling will move up to featherweight to take on Kelvin Kattar.

Top prospect Bo Nickal will face Brundage in another interesting matchup. White has already clarified that none of these three bouts would serve as the main or co-main event for the pay-per-view card.
The Funk Master will make his Featherweight debut
Aljamain Sterling will make his featherweight debut in a matchup against Kelvin Kattar. Among the boots that have already been confirmed is an important lightweight fight pitting former champion Charles Oliveira against Arman Tsarukyan in a title eliminator, which adds more anticipation and excitement to the upcoming blockbuster card.
