Roman Reigns is currently having a stunning run in WWE. He is getting what he has been waiting for years. Even though he lost the WWE Undisputed Universal title to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, it was the beginning of Reigns’ golden period in WWE. Fans waited for him for months and when he finally appeared at SummerSlam 2024, the entire arena erupted in cheers. This was something The OTC had never faced. As a babyface, this was Roman Reigns’ first acceptance by the WWE Universe.
Kurt Angle praised the Powerhouse
This has been acknowledged by former WWE Champion Kurt Angle as well. He had made a bold claim, saying that the company pushed Reigns a little too far in the beginning, which resulted in fans turning their backs on him.
While speaking at K&S WrestleFest, Angle said, “Roman Reigns. I’m not going to lie to you, that kid has been on fire. I will say this – he earned everything he got. I think the company pushed him a little too early and the fans didn’t want to accept it, but he followed through. He has proven that he is one of the best in the world right now.”
Reigns was initially booed by the fans
“King Kurt” is talking about the scenario that happened in 2015. WWE wanted to make Reigns the next John Cena, and it completely backfired. Vince McMahon wanted “The Big Dog” to become the next biggest babyface in WWE, but it didn’t work out at all. Instead, Reigns was booed by the WWE fans. It was only when Reigns took a break in 2020 and returned as a heel that the real change happened. In no time, he became the biggest heel in the company.
The OTC is feuding with Bloodline now
Apart from praising Roman Reigns, Kurt also praised Jacob Fatu and the new Bloodline, saying that everyone in the Samoan family is extremely talented. “They all come from the same family, the same Samoan background, but they are all extremely good. They’ve always been good. You look at Rikishi and the ones in the past. They have a great reputation of being great workers,” said Kurt. As of now, Reigns is currently feuding with his own Bloodline mates and trying to take down Solo Sikoa to re-establish himself as the “Only Tribal Chief.” At the upcoming PLE Bad Blood, Roman Reigns will team up with Cody Rhodes to face Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa.
