The young lad of a middle-class family, Yashasvi Jaiswal is touching the heights of success with the power of his willow. On the second day of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test, Yashasvi Jaiswal registered his maiden double century to become the third youngest Indian player to score a double ton.
Yashavi played a stupendous knock of 209 in 290 balls in an innings braced with 19 fours & 7 sixes at a stunning strike rate of 72.06. He was dismissed by veteran pacer James Anderson. At the young age of 22 years, Jaiswal became the third youngest Indian to score a double ton in Tests. The youngest Indian to register a century for India is Vinod Kambli who achieved the feat at the young age of 21 years & 35 days when he scored 224 runs against England in the year 1994. Before Kambli, it was Sunil Gavaskar who held the record of the youngest batsman to score a double ton when he scored 220 runs against West Indies at Port Spain in 1971 at the age of 21 years.
Yashasvi Jaiswal can become India’s top batter in all formats

Yashasvi Jaiswal is the fourth Indian to score a double century besides Ganguly, Gambhir & Ganguly. Jaiswal has taken 10 innings to reach his maiden double ton. Nair has notched his double ton in just three innings which makes him the fastest Indian to do so. Coming to Jaiswal he has so far played 6 Tests & 10 innings amassing 620 runs in 10 innings at an average of 68.88 & a strike rate of 63.85. He has scored a century, a double century & two half centuries.
By smashing 502 runs in 16 T20is innings at an average of 33.46 & a strike rate of 161.93 with a century & four half-fifties, Jaiswal can become India’s top performer in all formats. Not only on the International front but also on the domestic front Jaiswal has achieved laurels of success. He has scored two double tons in the Irani Cup, Duleep Trophy, Vijay Hazare & Tests. This speaks a lot about his hunger for going big & scoring runs. It’s only because of Jaiswal’s innings that India has neared 396 runs total in their first innings. For England Shoaib Bashir, Anderson & Rehan starred with the ball by returning with three wickets each.
