The recent WWE Backlash PLE in Lyon, France, was a great premium event where the crowd became a big story. The loud cheers and chanting from the crowd in the arena were taking over the show, which the company took great notice of and referenced many times. One of the best moments that happened in a SmackDown dark match before the World Heavyweight Championship match was when Jey Uso came out and asked fans to not only pump their arms up and down in unison but also turn on the lights on their cell phones, creating a natural display of thousands of fireflies coming to life. It reminded fans of the late Bray Wyatt’s entry, but after seeing how stunning it looked on TV, the company wants to make it happen again.
WWE wants to recreate the entrance
According to a report, WWE sources said Uso’s entrance at Backlash with the fireflies was incredibly well received and now the company is looking to mimic it with the America’s crowd. This is not only because of what happened in the backlash, but also because of the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers recreating that moment in a playoff game. To gain mainstream attention, WWE will continue to dim the lights during Jey Uso’s entrance. Jey commented on a post on X that said “Are you a fan of the addition of fireflies to Jey Uso’s entrance?
To this, Jey Uso replied with, “Yall ain’t got no damn choice. Fireflies are mines now. #YeeterOfWorlds -jey
The company is trying to create moments associated with Bray Wyatt
Jey Uso’s tweet is kind of weird. He certainly didn’t mean any harm, but the fact that Bray Wyatt is no longer with us means he and WWE are on a good path. It’s heartwarming to see how fans make Firefly whenever he’s mentioned, and they’ll definitely be in full force whenever his brother, Bo Dallas, returns as Uncle Howdy. For WWE to turn off the lights and try to let someone else in, and for Jey to say that Fireflies now belongs to him and calling himself the “Yeeter of Worlds,” is probably taking it a little too far. Bray Wyatt’s legacy is his alone.
