The biggest premium live event of WWE every year is WrestleMania. It is the time when all the good and great things about the wrestling business are celebrated. There have been many instances when this big event saw family members fighting against each other. On several occasions, WrestleMania was not only a family affair, but family members were on the big card. This year’s WrestleMania is going to be held on April 4 (Sunday). So on that note, we will have a look at those family members who were pitted against each other.
Nia Jax & (Shayna) vs. Tamina Snuka & (Natalya)
Nia Jax and Tamina Snuka are part of The Bloodline through marriage. The two cousins-in-law are fondly called “sisters,” and whenever they collided in the ring, fans were excited to see the moment. The audience witnessed an epic moment when Nia and Tamina were on opposite sides of the ring in a tag team match at WrestleMania 37. The sisters faced off with their respective partners, Shayna and Natalya. Eventually, Nia and Shayna retained their tag team titles.
Jimmy Uso vs Jey Uso
The Usos have been an incredible tag team in the WWE and the twins even became tag team champions once. However, Jimmy couldn’t handle his brother Jey’s success. When Jey was about to defeat their cousin in Tribal combat, Jimmy attacked him. Whenever Jey Uso was about to come out strong in the main event, “Uce” was himself there, making a cameo appearance and interfered. It’s no surprise that Jey challenged his brother to a showdown at WrestleMania 40. It will be interesting to see who comes on top at the Shows of Shows.
Rikishi vs The Rock
The Rock entered his first-ever WrestleMania to fight against his cousin Rikishi. “Rocky Maivia” was working under a ninja type hood as “The Samoan Stinker.” However, it was a family after. After The Rock successfully defended his IC title, Rikishi’s managers, Bob Backlund and The Iron Sheik attacked “The Brahma Bull.” But Rocky Johnson came out of the stands to help save the day and The Rock.
Kane vs. The Undertaker
After debuting at Badd Blood: In Your House and costing his Kayfabe brother the first ever Hell In A Cell match in WWE, Kane spent the next few months hyping a match with The Deadman. The Brothers of Destruction faced each other at WrestleMania 14. The fight continued for more than 25 minutes, with both men continuously giving each other epic moves. At the end, it was The Undertaker who stood up and after several Tombstones, he was able to defeat Kane in their first ever encounter on the biggest stage.
Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio
Since Dominik Mysterio embraced the dark side and turned on his family and great father, he has become one of the biggest heels in the WWE. “Dirty Dom” was even booed and humiliated at his own wedding. When he turned, the stage was immediately set for the eventual confrontation between father and son. Despite initially not wanting to fight his son, “The Master of the 619” was able to give his son a whooping at WrestleMania, eventually winning the match.
Bret Hart vs Owen Hart
Owen Hart was very good and skilled in the ring, but he was also living under the shadow of his older brother Bret Hart, who had already become a WWE Triple Crown winner. After Owen kicked Bret’s leg out, he tried to finish off the rest of him. The brothers faced each other at WrestleMania 10 and had an historic and emotional wrestling match. Owen ended up eventually defeating “The Hitman.” But a few hours later, Bret became WWE Champion once again and Owen was left boiled.
Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy
The Hardy Boyz were the ones who revolutionized tag team wrestling. When they went on to continue their careers as singles, both men had some success, dealt with their weaknesses a bit, left WWE and came back to achieve more success. At the end of 2008, Jeff was performing a little better than his older brother Matt, which made “Version 1.0” jealous. So he damaged everything related to Jeff. Once everything was revealed, the stage was set for the Extreme Rules match at WrestleMania 25, which was won by Jeff Hardy.
Vince McMahon vs Shane McMahon
The relationship between a father and a son is often very special. But with the way Vince McMahon was treating his wife Linda (Shane’s mother), it’s no wonder that “Shane O’Mac” was ready for a battle at WrestleMania 17. The father and son squared off in a hardcore match, with Linda finally getting a big pop by just getting up from her wheelchair to show that she was not as doped as Vince would have fans believe.
