After winning the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2024) title on Sunday, the Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bangalore experienced their first taste of franchise cricket success.
Mandhana’s women’s team made history with RCB’s victory over the Delhi Capitals, but the men’s team hasn’t won an IPL championship in their 16 years of competition. Rajasthan Royals posted a meme that went viral on the internet as supporters celebrated RCB’s victory on social media.
Rajasthan Royals compared the title victory of the RCB women’s team to a scene from the well-known comedy TV show “Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma” in their post. The Royals appear to have made a subtle jab at the men’s team of RCB with the post.
Not just Rajasthan saw the irony in RCB’s women’s team winning the title ahead of the men’s. On the same topic, a number of other social media users attempted to troll the Bengaluru team.
