Roman Reigns has been on a hiatus since losing his WWE Undisputed universal championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. “The Tribal Chief” held his Universal title for a total of 1,316 days and the WWE Championship for 735 days as well, but his glorious run ended this year in April. Reigns took a much-needed break from the wrestling business. However, since his rest began, WWE fans have been speculating on when Reigns could return to the WWE.
Reigns could appear on SmackDown soon
According to a report, Reigns’ return is not on the cards yet but also not too far off. WWE folks expect Reigns to be back in business by SummerSlam on August 3, which means that there are plans for him to return on an episode of WWE SmackDown in the coming weeks leading up to the premium live event. There are only three SmackDown shows left before SummerSlam, which means “The Tribal Chief” could return on July 19 or July 26.
The Bloodline has completely changed in Reigns absence
With Reigns on hiatus, the landscape of The Bloodline has also changed miserably. Roman was accompanied by Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman for his match against Cody Rhodes in April and in the span of three months, only Sikoa is left with his own design. After WrestleMania 40, Jimmy Uso was kicked out of the family faction and replaced by Tama Tonga, who attacked Uso in the process.
Tonga was then joined by his brother Tonga Loa, who debuted at the Backlash event in France. Soon, Jacob Fatu made his highly anticipated debut in WWE and became the latest member of the group, helping Sikoa cast out Paul Heyman at Madison Square Garden. Reigns will definitely not be happy with Sikoa’s current Bloodline and when he returns, fans can expect to see sides divide, with the Usos on the Reigns side and Sikoa with his newly assigned members.
