India pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be rested for the IND vs ENG 4th Test which will be played from February 23rd in Ranchi. There is not much time gap between the two fixtures & there are reports of Bumrah not flying with team India to Jharkhand as he has been advised rest. With India leading the series by 2-1 in the five match Test series, the management has advised some rest to their ace pacer who is struggling due to injuries.
Bumrah was out of action for a year as he was struggling with stress fracture on hia back. And after one year of rehabilitation he is finally back in the Indian team. Looking at the history of his injury Dravid & team management don’t want to take rish with Bumrah who has so far bowled 80.5 overs in the three fixtures so far. He has been exceptional with the ball returning with 17 wickets in 3 matches. He was an integral part of India’s win in Vizag when he registered a six wicket haul. He also has a four wicket haul registered on his name.
Bumrah to travel back to Ahmedabad ahead of Final Test

The fifth & the last Test of the series will take place in Dharamsala & it will be dependent on the result of Ranchi Test whether Bumrah will play in the final Test or not. There are reports that Bumrah will straight away travel to Ahmedabad to spend some time with his family & rest before the decider Test.
The decision of resting Bumrah is a part of Indian management’s strategy of managing workload inorder to ensure that he gets proper rest in the series. Bumrah will be playing the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) soon for Mumbai Indians (MI) after having missed the opportunity due to injury last year.
Who will replace Bumrah in IND vs ENG 4th Test?
Mohammed Siraj is the most experienced pacer in the lineup & will lead India’s pace attack in Siraj’s absence. Mukesh Kumar, who was released ahead of the third Test to play Ranji Trophy match for Bengal, will join the team in Ranchi. Notably, Akash Deep, right arm fast bowler, is also a part of the Test squad can make his debut in Ranchi.
Coming to the Rajkot Test, India registered their biggest victory in the history of Test cricket with a huge margin of 434 runs. Thanks to India’s exceptional performance that they could script history against the ‘Bazball team’. Their batting order was solid as they could post a huge 400+ total on board & batters performance was capitalized by their bowling unit which bowled England out for 122 runs. India also become the first team to declare innings against Bazball team which is a moment of pride for India.
India will next lock horns with England in the fourth Test of the series beginning on 23rd February on the grounds of Ranchi.
