WWE fans were expecting to see Asuka in the Queen of the Ring Tournament that kicked off in Raw this week. However, her teammate from Damage CTRL, Dakota Kai, announced that she was injured and was replaced at the last moment. The “Ramen Woman” has had some tough weeks. She, along with Dakota Rai and Kaire Sane, lost the six-woman tag team match last month at WrestleMania XL to the squad of Naomi, Jade Cargill and Bianca Blair. Their losing streak continued as the Kabuki Warriors lost the women’s tag team title to Blair and Cargill at Backlash 2024.
Asuka suffered a serious injury
Asuka was scheduled to face Lyra Valkyria in the first round of the Queen of the Ring Tournament but was eventually replaced by Dakota Kai. According to a report, her injury was serious. The latest edition of RAW proved to be a mix of good and bad things for the Damage CTRL. Dakota Kai lost to Valkyria and failed to seal her spot. The other member of the team, Iyo Sky, will either face Shayna Baszler or Zelina Vega in the second round.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion is one of the toughest wrestler
The 42-year-old has been one of the most dominant wrestlers in WWE. Asuka went undefeated for 500 days. “The Empress of Tomorrow” has held several titles during her stint in the company. However, her record at The Show of the Shows is something that leaves something still desired for her. Asuka’s first loss came at WrestleMania 34 against Charlotte Flair. Since then, she has been unable to claim a win at the biggest stage of all. She has competed in six editions of WrestleMania and has lost every single match there. Her most recent loss came this year, along with Dakota Kai and Kairi Kane, when they lost to Jade Cargill, Naomi and Bianca Blair.

It will be interesting to see now how the Kabuki Warriors will recover from their recent setback and whether they will get a rematch against Cargill and Blair. The Kabuki Warriors were originally formed as faces in 2019, but they turned heel after firing their manager, Paige. Asuka and Sane also parted ways in 2020, when Asuka left the company and went to Japan. In 2023, the two reunited again as part of the Damage CTRL stable. Let’s see what the future holds for them.
