History of Puneri Paltan in PKL
Puneri Paltan, a founding member of the Pro Kabaddi League, had early difficulties and finished last in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. But in the January 2016 season, a turning point was reached when the Paltans, still adjusting to a learning curve, won a postseason spot for the first time and finished in third place.
Puneri Paltan will show tenacity in the next seasons. They missed the playoffs by a close margin in June of 2016, but they made up for it in 2017 and earned a much-needed postseason place. But the 2018–19 campaign proved difficult, as the squad was unable to qualify for the playoffs.
Puneri Paltan overcame all obstacles to capture a historic moment on December 15, 2022, defeating the Tamil Thalaivas in the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League’s ninth-season semifinal.
They advanced to their first-ever Pro Kabaddi League final thanks to this win, which set up a matchup with the Jaipur Pink Panthers. They currently hold the PKL 2024 season victory.
