After returning to WWE, CM Punk got involved in his first feud with Drew McIntyre and he always looks on his best behavior backstage. Wrestling fans know very well about the drama Punk has created backstage during his tenure in AEW. Recently, WWE superstar Kevin Owens revealed in an interview that he does not speak to CM Punk and the two are not friends.
Owens about the Second City Saint
Kevin Owens recently spoke to the Daily Mail and opened up about his relationships with some wrestlers. He praised The Viper Randy Orton and called himself lucky to work with him, but he didn’t have the same warming words for CM Punk. He said, “We never talk. We have no reason to talk. We’re not friends. We’re not, We don’t, you know, we are just not, I don’t know. If we worked together, we’d talk, but just not a thing we do.”
The tension arose at Ring of Honor
The cold war between CM Punk and Kevin Owens dates back to their days in Ring of Honor. During that time, Punk was seen as the locker room leader while the “Headlock Master” was making a name for himself in the independent scene. Owens’ appearance and wrestling attire were the subject of their first issue, when Punk criticized Owens for wrestling wearing a T-shirt. This set the stage for their tense relationship and resulted in an awkward confrontation between the two that laid the foundation for their tense relationship.

Owens has not shown interest in Punk’s WWE return
Currently, both wrestling stars are part of WWE, but their interactions are minimal. Owens clearly stated that they have no relationship and they are not really each other’s kind of people. Despite working in the same company, they maintain a professional distance and interact only when necessary. In addition, Owens has shown no interest in Punk’s comeback to WWE, stating that all he wants is to enjoy his profession and stay out of unnecessary trouble. Their relationship is characterized by mutual indifference rather than active hostility, so maybe we’ll see the two wrestlers together at a WWE event in the future. Both men can be really vicious on the mic, so the verbal sparring alone can make their feud fascinating.
