The conversation surrounding the T20I prospects of two seasoned Indian hitters, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, is still taking center stage. Following India’s 2023 Cricket World Cup campaign, there has been an increased focus on the subject. It is noteworthy that since India’s 10-wicket loss to England in the T20 World Cup semi-final in November of last year, neither of the batsmen has participated in a Twenty20 international match for the team. The Indian cricket team is undoubtedly trying to incorporate as many new players as possible in the Twenty20 International squad, but Rohit and Kohli’s outstanding performances in the One-Day International format have kept them in the running for the T20 World Cup in 2024. Wasim Akram Takes A Sharp Dig On Virat & Rohit T20I Future
Wasim Akram, a legendary player from Pakistan, expressed his opinion on the two players’ T20I futures and stated that India would require both of them for the T20 World Cup in 2019.
“The T20 World Cup will happen in a few months. I’ll choose the two. Without a doubt, they will be India’s key players. It helps if you have some T20 experience. It is not enough to depend only on young men, Wasim Akram told Sportskeeda.
When Rohit is not available for T20Is, Hardik Pandya has been guiding the squad. In Rohit and Kohli’s absence, players like Tilak Varma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Rinku Singh have performed admirably.
Akram is not the only former cricket player, though, who supports Rohit and Kohli’s decision to play T20Is for India.

Although Rohit, 36, and Kohli, 35, are not getting any younger, Ashish Nehra, a former Indian pacer, too feels that factors other than age should be considered when determining a player’s future.
Australia and India are presently engaged in a five-match Twenty20 International series. Due to an injury, Hardik was not selected for the series; Suryakumar Yadav is captaining the team in his place.
Regarding the World Cup match, Akram said that Rohit is superior to Joe Root, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, and Babar Azam. The “sultan of swing” continued by equating Rohit with Inzamam-ul-Haq, a former captain of Pakistan.
