Pakistan’s terrible 2023 ODI World Cup campaign took a small turn for the better on Tuesday when they triumphed over Bangladesh. The Babar Azam-led team exhaled after suffering four straight losses and crushed Bangladesh by seven wickets in Kolkata. In just 32.3 overs, Pakistan managed to chase down the subpar goal of 205 runs. Bangladesh was the first team to be officially eliminated from the competition after this defeat. Pakistan, though, still has a chance to place among the top four teams in the standings. Scroll down to read Wasim Akram Names New Threat.
Wasim Akram Names New Threat
After defeating Bangladesh, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram said that the Babar Azam-led squad should concentrate on winning their remaining games because they have no control over the outcomes of the other teams.
In addition, Akram stated that other teams should be wary of the reigning champions, England, since they have “nothing to lose” and are in danger of losing.
“Pakistan is limited to one option. They simply need to win their games, and then they can only hope and pray that other teams will have successful outcomes. Because you have no control over those things. Again, Pakistan has little control over New Zealand’s outcome if they lose by a significant margin. They ought to concentrate on their big cricket clubs in the next two games,” Akram stated on A Sports.

“Because England is out, I’m afraid of them. They are going to play cricket with fearlessness. They stand to gain nothing. They’re going to be hostile and try to ruin someone’s celebration,” he continued.
In the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets thanks to bowlers’ excellence, Fakhar Zaman, and Abdullah Shafique’s half-centuries.
Pakistan ended their four-match losing streak in the competition with this fantastic win, and they now sit fifth with six points. Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s hopes of making it to the semifinals of the ODI World Cup were unmet.
Their team won by seven wickets with an unbeaten 26 from Mohammad Rizwan. Mohammad Rizwan opened the innings with scores of 81 and 68, respectively, for Shafique and Zaman. Mehidy Hasan Miraz took three wickets for Bangladesh.
