Australia maintained their dominance in the match by ending India’s run in the final with a six-wicket victory. “Losing the final must have broken them, but in cricket, these things do happen. Unfortunately, India’s poor day occurred during the final,” Akram remarked.
“When you consider their organizational structure, player compensation, carefully planned initiatives, and reserve potential, it becomes clear that they should keep up these efforts. Their cricket team is doing well,” he continued.
As a previous player, Akram claimed to know the Australians’ mental toughness during elimination matches.
Akram remarked, “I was captain when we played them in the 1999 World Cup final, and although we had beaten them in the league stage, in the final they were a different side, just like yesterday in Ahmedabad. Some, like Rashid Latif, the former wicketkeeper for Pakistan, believed the Indian team was on par with the Australians.”
“Maybe the Indian players are experiencing psychological issues. Although this squad deserved to win the World Cup final, Latif gave the Australians full credit for once again demonstrating their mental toughness and organizational skills in sports,” he continued.

Latif praised the World Cup bowling of seamer Muhammad Shami as exceptional. “Observe how he has developed and performed so admirably. He was, in my opinion, India’s most outstanding performer at the World Cup,” he said.
Misbah ul Haq, the former captain of Pakistan, said that the Australians had a superior understanding of the surface than the Indians and that the toss was crucial. “Aside from batting first required over 300 on this pitch to defend it,” he stated.
Misbah also complimented Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for setting a good example for the whole competition. He stated, “I think the younger players must have learned a lot from these two in the dressing room and otherwise in this World Cup.”
According to former players Basit Ali and Kamran Akmal, it was time for India to start concentrating on assembling a T20 team for the World Cup in 2020.
“But it will be difficult for the Indian selectors to not consider Rohit, Virat, or Jadeja for the series in South Africa or even the Champions Trophy in 2025,” Basit stated.
Mohsin Khan, a former batter, stated that Pakistan needed to take note of how Australia and India had adjusted to the demands of contemporary cricket, particularly during the World Cup.
“Rather than focusing on India’s loss, we should recognize that they had already participated in two ICC finals this year, both of which they lost to Australia. They are operating properly,” said Mohsin Khan.
