The Ranji 2023-24 Final will be played at the grounds of Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The MCA group has been assigned the task of hosting this much-anticipated fixture & the Mumbai Cricket Association has zeroed down Wankhede Stadium which has previously hosted major events to host Ranji 2023 Final.
“The Wankhede Stadium will likely be the venue,” stated a Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) official to Cricbuzz. “We’ll make the final decision within the next 24 hours,” the official added, buoyed by Mumbai’s dominant performance over Tamil Nadu, clinching victory by an innings and 70 runs on the third day of the semifinal contest. This victory marks Mumbai’s 48th appearance in the Ranji final.
Later in the evening, an MCA office-bearer confirmed Wankhede Stadium as the host for the final. “Wankhede Stadium has been the heart of Mumbai cricket for nearly half a century. Considering the tournament’s legacy and the significance of this big game for the entire Mumbai cricket community, it’s only fitting that the final takes place at Wankhede,” remarked Ajinkya Naik, MCA secretary.
Who will play in Ranji 2023-24 Final

The opposition for the final will be the winners of the ongoing second semifinal between Vidarbha & Madhya Pradesh which has been played in Nagpur. Regardless of the outcome, Mumbai will host the final fixture. As per the existing rules & regulations the team which is placed in the superior position at the Points Table will host the final.
The MCA encountered a dilemma regarding the choice of venue contemplating between Wankhede & BKC. The latter hosted all Mumbai home matches except for one against UP in February & believed to be the players’ preference.
Additionally, considerations arose due to the upcoming Indian Premier League fixtures. The first match of the league will be played on April 1. However, the MCA management has zeroed down to Wankhede Stadium recognizing the importance of the fixture as it is the highest contest in domestic cricket.
Mumbai enjoys a stellar record in the Ranji Trophy winning 41 titles with their last triumph coming in the year 2015-16 season. Before this season, Wankhede has hosted the Ranji final on 11 occasions. This season marks the 89th edition of the Ranji Trophy.
