When Kohli began to bat, India was in a critical 2 for 2 situation, which quickly turned into 5 for 3. Dawid Malan of England, who scored a magnificent 140 against Bangladesh at Dharamsala, rose to seven spots in the rankings to take the eighth slot, while Imam Ul Haq of Pakistan fell three spots to take the ninth spot.
Trent Boult of New Zealand rose two spots to take third place in the ICC rankings, and Matt Henry advanced four spots to take fifth place inside the top 10.
