The opening match of the IPL 2024 garnered lots of traction as two top league teams locked horns with each other. The fixture saw Ruturaj Gaikwad stepping up into the role of CSK Captain. And Maharashtra’s lad successfully fulfilled his leadership duties as Chennai won the fixture with six wickets. However, what grabbed fans attention was Virat Kohli & MS Dhoni’s camaraderie.

On Friday, Virat Kohli became the first Indian to amass 12,000 T20 runs achieving the feat during RCB vs CSK clash. With this stunning feat, he has also achieved the feat of becoming the sixth player after T20 stalwarts Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales, and David Warner to reach the milestone.
Virat Kohli unlocked a unique Milestone in CSK vs RCB

Virat Kohli reached the remarkable milestone in the seventh over of the game swiping a full toss delivery from Jadeja behind square on the leg side to get a single run. Rohit Sharma has notched up an impressive total of 12,000 runs in cricket, covering his stellar performances for RCB in the IPL and the Champions League (which is no longer held), as well as for Delhi in domestic Twenty20 matches, and for India in T20 Internationals. Following him closely is Rohit Sharma, who has scored 11,156 runs in 426 matches, and then there’s Shikhar Dhawan with 9,645 runs in 329 matches.
Coming to the fixture, RCB again saw a downfall in their batting order with their top batters in the face of Patidar & Maxwell dismissing at zero. Except for Plessis (35), Rawat (48) & Karthik (38) none of the batsmen could score runs with the willow. CSK’s bowlers restricted their run-flow as Mustafizur Rahman walked with four wickets & reducing RCB to a total of 171 runs. In reply, CSK got off to a gleaming start with all their batsman returning with crucial runs. As a result, they could easily get away from the fixture by chasing the target within 18 overs with four wickets in spare.
