In a recent statement, former South Africa captain AB de Villiers revealed that his former captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli, is expecting a second child. Notably, the latter was granted a leave of absence for personal reasons prior to the current five-match Test series.
The Indian Cricket Board, however, advised spectators against conjecture. On his YouTube channel, the former South Africa player asserted that Kohli’s child was on the way. De Villiers went on to say that it was unfair to judge the former captain of India and wished him a very happy and prosperous life.
In the video, De Villiers said, “Yeah, he is expecting his second child; it’s a family affair. You can’t hold Virat responsible for that; sure, we miss him, but he made the right choice. We wish him all the very best for the great blessing of being able to become a father for the second time and all the best to Anushka as well.”

The former wicketkeeper has since admitted that he shared false information and made a terrible mistake, just a few days after making his claim. He went on to say that Virat’s family comes first, regardless of what has happened in his life.
In an exclusive interview with Bhaskar, de Villiers said, “Families are the most important thing; I stated as much on my YouTube show. Simultaneously, I committed a grave error by disseminating inaccurate information that was completely untrue. Therefore, I simply believe that Virat and his family should have the most space. Nobody is aware of what is going on there. “
He further added, “All I can do is wish him well. I think everyone who loves cricket and follows Virat must just wish him well and whatever the reason is for this break, really hope that he comes back stronger, better, healthier, fresh and ready to take on the world again.”
