KL Rahul (INR 17 crore)
Kl Rahul is ranked first on our list since he is the IPL 2024 captain who receives the biggest salary. He was recruited by the Lucknow Super Giants two seasons ago at the same price as Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis. As both the team’s captain and a hitter, he has been carrying a lot of weight. In their debut season in the IPL, LSG advanced to the playoffs under his direction.

Hardik Pandya (INR 15 crore)
With the Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya is back in play, but there’s a big twist: Rohit Sharma has been replaced as captain. In the previous two seasons, Pandya captained the Gujarat Titans, leading them to the IPL championship and a runner-up finish. In the time he spent with the Titans, he earned a cool 15 crore rupees. But because he joined the team through a trade, his pay is unchanged now that he’s back with the Mumbai Indians.
There’s more to the tale, though: Pandya is said to have gotten a sizable bonus as compensation for the transfer. Going from managing one side to taking the helm of another is a significant step for Pandya, and it will undoubtedly cause a stir in the cricket community. Viewers can’t wait to watch how Pandya’s management style will affect the Mumbai Indians’ success in the next IPL season.

Sanju Samson (INR 14 crore)
One of the highest-paid captains for the IPL 2024 is Sanju Samson. At the same fee, RR decided to keep him for the 2022 campaign. He led his club to victory in the 2022 season and has been an outstanding hitter for the team. His captaincy has also contributed to the team’s success in the IPL.

Shreyas Iyer (INR 12.25 crore)
Iyer, who missed the previous season due to a back injury, is scheduled to return to the IPL stage. He secured a contract with KKR for a cool INR 12.25 crore during the IPL 2022 auction, and they named him captain. Although Nitish Rana captained KKR during the previous season, Iyer will now take over as captain.

MS Dhoni (INR 12 crore)
MS Dhoni made a big decision by cutting his compensation from 15 million rupees to 12 crore rupees before the 2023 IPL. Because of this altruistic choice, Ravindra Jadeja was able to continue working at a greater income of 16 crore rupees. After helping CSK win their sixth IPL title the previous season, Dhoni now faces the prospect that IPL 2024 may be his last season in the competition.

Shikhar Dhawan (INR 8.25 crore)
Shikhar Dhawan was acquired by the Punjab Kings for an incredible ₹8.25 crore at the grand IPL auction of 2022. The team elected to give him the captaincy again for the forthcoming season because of his demonstrated leadership abilities during his tenure as captain during the previous campaign.

Shubman Gill (INR 8 crore)
The Gujarat Titans chose to name Shubman Gill as their captain for the 2024 Indian Premier League after Hardik Pandya returned to the Mumbai Indians. Similar to Hardik Pandya, he was selected by the team in the 2022 draft. Since then, he has emerged as the team’s best batsman, helping them win a lot of games during the previous two seasons. Additionally, he was instrumental in the team’s victory during their inaugural Indian Premier League season. He will now lead the team for the first time in his professional career.

Faf du Plessis (INR 7 crore)
The right-hander was eventually named the team’s skipper when Virat Kohli resigned from his position. The former South African captain was purchased by RCB in the 2022 mini-auction for 7 crores, most likely to fill the skipper position for the season. The last two seasons have seen RCB play excellent cricket under his direction. His outstanding batting has also benefited the squad. He has been the team’s run scorer for the past two seasons.

David Warner (6.25 crore)
Even though there is a chance that Rishabh Pant will return next season, the Delhi-based team elected to start Australian opener David Warner as their captain for the 2024 campaign in the absence of their full-time captain. In terms of leadership, he has experience leading the IPL, as he made history with his former team, Sunrisers Hyderabad, in the 2016 campaign.

Aiden Markram (INR 2.6 crore)
With a salary of INR 2.6 crore this year, Aiden Markram, the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, is now the lowest-paid captain in the IPL. After taking over as SRH’s captain the previous season, Markram was unable to lead the group to the postseason. Now that Pat Cummins has joined the SRH team, there is conjecture regarding Markram’s potential to stay captain. But as of yet, there hasn’t been a formal declaration or affirmation on this subject. As the new season draws near, supporters are anxious to hear any updates regarding the team’s leadership dynamics.
