Le Téfécé started fairly well with signs of promise despite some inconsistent results. Overall, Toulouse seem capable of scoring goals and competing well under coach Philippe Montanier thanks to talents like van den Boomen. But they have also looked vulnerable defensively at times. Toulouse’s attacking potential means they have a good chance of avoiding relegation this season. But building defensive stability and consistency will be crucial.
Reims form analysis
Reims’ recent Ligue 1 matches have shown a capable team but one prone to inconsistency. However, Reims then suffered consecutive losses – 1-2 at home to Brest and 1-2 away at Lille. Teuma scored in both games but defensive issues were apparent. Reims ended their losing run with an impressive 2-0 home win over Lyon thanks to goals from Munetsi and Abdelhamid. But defensive problems resurfaced last time out as they lost heavily 1-3 at home to Monaco.
Overall, Reims seem organized enough to trouble teams and capable of grinding out results. But they have lacked defensive solidity, conceding at least twice in 4 of these 5 matches. Finding better consistency will be key for coach Will Still as Reims aim to achieve a top half of the table finish this season. If he can address their vulnerability at the back, their spirit and threat on the counter could make them a tricky opponent.
