Tottenham vs Wolverhampton Wanderers: Preview
Tottenham form analysis
The Lilywhites had a solid form in their recent Premier League campaign. Which began by beating Bournemouth 3-1 at home on December 31st thanks to goals from P. Sarr, Son Heung-Min and Richarlison. Momentum continued on January 14th as Tottenham drew 2-2 away to Manchester United – they conceded early and late to R. Højlund and M. Rashford but fought back through Richarlison and R. Bentancur.
On February 1st, Tottenham won a thriller 3-2 at home against Brentford after initially going behind – D. Udogie, B. Johnson and Richarlison scored for Spurs. However, consistency remained an issue on February 3rd as Tottenham drew 2-2 away to Everton, with Richarlison scoring twice before conceding late. Most recently on February 10th, Tottenham beat Brighton 2-1 at home – P. Sarr and B. Johnson secured the win after P. Groß’s early penalty. Overall, Spurs have shown attacking threat but struggled defensively. Improving at the back could propel them to the top place.
Wolverhampton Wanderers form analysis
Wolves were inconsistent in form for their last five Premier League fixtures. Which kicked off beating Everton 3-0 at home on December 30th courtesy of goals from M. Kilman, Matheus Cunha and C. Dawson. Momentum stalled with a 0-0 away draw at Brighton on January 23rd. On February 2nd, Wolves lost a thriller 4-3 at home to Manchester United – Pablo Sarabia and M. Kilman had Wolves leading twice but they conceded to M. Rashford, R. Højlund, S. McTominay and late winner K. Mainoo.
Looking to bounce back on February 4th, Wolves won 4-2 away at Chelsea thanks to a Matheus Cunha hat-trick after initially going behind. However, inconsistency continued on February 10th as Wolves lost 2-0 at home to Brentford, conceding to C. Nørgaard and I. Toney. Overall, Wolves have shown tremendous attacking threat but been poor defensively. Tighter defense could help translate their scoring into better overall results.
Tottenham vs Wolverhampton Wanderers: Prediction
The visitors in all fairness have done well for themselves with seven points in three past away fixtures. That being said I don’t see them taking any points against a club on a five match winning streak at home.
Over three goals was the average scoreline in the last five away fixtures of the midlands team. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has recorded an average of four goals in the last five fixtures.
