The feud between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson does not seem to be ending soon. After the Dagestani fighter made a statement about Tony Ferguson that the only way he had a chance to win against him was a ‘lucky punch’, “El Cucuy” has been continuously lashing out at Khabib. Ferguson initially addressed Khabib as a f***ing p***y and now he has once again taken shots at “The Eagle” for his failed weight cut.
Taking social media, Ferguson commented, “What A puts, He means leave this sport to those who can make weight #TowelGate CSO FatheadGonBeFat.” This was a reference to the time Khabib failed to make weight for his match against Tony Ferguson at UFC 209. While “El Cucuy” weighed in at 154.5 pounds, Khabib fell ill and had to be hospitalized. This was one of the five occasions when a fight between Ferguson and Nurmagomedov was scheduled but had to be canceled.
Ferguson has not secured a single win since 5 years
Most recently, “Tony Ferguson lost a fight against Michael Chiesa in Abu Dhabi. He suffered a first-round knockout. This was Ferguson’s eighth consecutive loss in the UFC. His last win came against Donald Cerrone in June 2019 at UFC 238. Since then, there has been a huge decline in Ferguson’s performances. In fact, UFC CEO Dana White has himself asked Ferguson to retire.
However, Ferguson said he would like to take his career further. Initially, Khabib left a heartfelt note to his former rival and wished Tony Ferguson a happy and beautiful retired life. However, things quickly escalated when Khabib was asked who would win if the fight against Ferguson came to fruition. While giving his opinion on the Inspire Me podcast, the former UFC champion said that Ferguson lacked a lot of wrestling skills.

Thus, according to “The Eagle,” it was quite obvious that despite the fans’ support for Ferguson, the victory would have been secured by Khabib. The Dagestani fighter further mentioned that the only way “El Cucuy” would have secured the win was by a lucky punch and knocked Khabib. With the former rivals taking shots at each other, it is interesting to see how things go further.
