Last week’s WWE NXT episode was quite exciting, as the audience got two big surprises. During the end of the episode, former AEW wrestler Ethan Page showed up to attack NXT Champion Trix Williams. An even bigger surprise was the appearance of TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace, who turned out to be the mystery opponent for NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez at Battleground. Earlier, Grace also appeared in the Royal Rumble. WWE fans were all praise for head of the brand, Shawn Michaels, which led to Grace giving him a fun gift.
HBK is cooking something really great
WWE’s one of the most hilarious segments during Shawn Michaels’ run with Triple H in D-Generation X in 2009 was a segment in which HBK was seen out of WWE, but “The Game” found him working in the cafeteria. After Triple H convinced Shawn to join him, “The Showstopper” kicked his boss in the face. A week ago, HBK also changed his X profile photo to a picture of him wearing the chef’s hat from that segment to let people know he was in on the joke of fans calling that ‘Michaels is cooking.’
Now, Jordynne Grace has posted a picture of herself with HBK wearing a gift she gave him, a chef’s hat that has “Chef Michaels” written on it. In the caption, Grace wrote, ‘I’ve never been so excited to give someone a gift in my entire life.”
Crossover between TNA & NXT is likely to continue
WWE and Shawn Michaels are really cooking. Last year was the best for the company in terms of business as WWE entered a new era under the ownership of Endeavor and the leadership of Triple H and Shawn Michaels. NXT’s amazing growth continues this weekend with the Battleground PLE, which takes place on Sunday, June 9. Trick Williams is set to defend his NXT Championship against Ethan Page, on the other hand, Roxanne Perez will put her NXT Women’s Championship on line against Jordynne Grace. Whatever the results are at Battleground, the crossover between NXT and TNA is expected to continue, as Michaels seems to be cooking something interesting.
