The well-known Brazilian hero, who is regarded as one of the greatest players in football history, admitted he would have jumped at the chance to team up with Barcelona star Lionel Messi. The 79-year-old, who had 1,281 goals in his career and owns the Guinness World Record for most goals scored, assisted Brazil in three World Cup victories between 1958 and 1970. Despite his 18-year commitment to the Brazilian club Santos, it only took him a month to flip his support from Ronaldo to Messi in the “greatest of all time” discussion.
The Brazilian legend told Gazzetta dello Sport, “I think of Leo Messi. He dribbles well, passes the ball well, assists teammates, and scores goals. Our opponents would have to be concerned about two players instead of just one if we were on the same squad! Messi is currently the most perfect player.”
Late legend Pele said Messi is the Best:

Neymar was praised by Pele as the third-best player in his opinion, although Pele thinks there aren’t many world-class players left in the modern game. Despite ignoring his South American opponent the previous time, he also included his old nemesis Maradona in the list. “Once, you found two or three in every country with a strong football culture. Eusebio, Simoes (Antonio), Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Maradona (Diego), Garrincha, and Didi. I asked how many. There were numerous. As a whole, we have two or three today. Neymar, who has yet to establish himself as a major personality in Brazil, would be my choice in addition to Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Not long ago, Pele said to the YouTube channel Pilhado, “The best player in the world right now, is Cristiano Ronaldo I believe he is the greatest since he is more reliable. Of course, [Lionel] Messi cannot be overlooked, but he is hardly a striker.”
The former star of Brazil listed a number of other players who may have taken the top spot, but he insisted that he was still the best player alive. “It is a question that is challenging to answer,” he continued. We must not overlook Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, and Zico.
