The Undertaker and John Cena had their last encounter at WrestleMania 34. This was the last time the two WWE legends battled in the ring and to the surprise of many, “The Deadman” won the match. Interestingly, Undertaker’s nine-year-old daughter was sitting in the front row with his wife, but she was not at all happy with the match. When “The Deadman” defeated John Cena within three minutes and secured the pinfall, his daughter’s disappointment was evident.
Taker’s daughter is a big fan of John Cena
Recently, while speaking with Kevin Hart on Cold As Balls on the Laugh Out Loud Network, The Undertaker shared this incident. During the interview, “The Deadman” revealed that his daughter disapproved of the outcome through a thumbs-down, which shocked and emotionally affected him. Taker said, “My daughter loves him, my daughter loves Cena. Eventually, we had the match. She’s sitting front row with her mom. It was a real quick deal. I squash him in like five minutes. I just beat the sh** out of him and drop him on his head.”
He further said, “I pin him, right? And I’m looking at my daughter, ‘Yay, Daddy,’ and she was giving me thumbs down. I was like, ‘What the hell is that?”
Taker then revealed that he went backstage and asked why she was sad. It turned out that Cena was her favorite WWE Superstar and she didn’t know her father was going to defeat him within three minutes. So to make up for it, Taker approached Cena, who was there in the arena and asked him to console his daughter.
“So I had to get John,” I said, ‘John, you have to talk to my daughter.’ He was really good, saying, ‘Ok, I’ve said a lot of bad things about your father. I deserved it, I’m fine.’”
Cena is ready to hang up his boots
WrestleMania 34 was also the last time John Cena wrestled at an WrestleMania event. He has not been actively wrestling for the last six years, and a match with The Undertaker was not even on the card until the last moment when “The Deadman” suddenly appeared. While Undertaker has already retired, the 16-time WWE champion has announced that he will retire by the end of 2025. Cena will begin a retirement tour in January 2025 and by December, he will hang up his boots.
