Recently, a video was posted on the “Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway” Youtube channel, where WWE legend The Undertaker, also known as Mark Calaway, discussed his long-awaited dream wrestling match with Sting, which never happened. Fans are still hoping for this match, even though Sting retired recently and The Undertaker has been retired for a few years. It’s not likely to happen, but The Undertaker revealed that had Sting not retired, he would have considered a return. However, Sting has officially retired from wrestling.
WWE legend revealed why match didn’t happen
The Undertaker reflected on the missed opportunity, saying that there was a specific period when Sting was in WWE that presented the perfect opportunity for their epic performance. He revealed that Vince McMahon didn’t want the match to go down.
“He had a short run in WWE and Vince didn’t want it. For whatever reason, I don’t know what it was. He didn’t feel it. Everybody else was clamoring for this match for quite a few years,” said The Undertaker.
Sting was pitted against Triple H instead of The Undertaker
The Undertaker stressed that although the match could have been good, he believed it would not have lived up to the fans’ extreme expectations, especially given the timing of their potential matchup. Instead of pitting against Undertaker, the company decided to put Sting against Triple H, resulting in a victory for “The Game” after a chaotic ending involving DX and the NWO.
