WWE legend Undertaker had a memorable wrestling career that lasted for almost 30 years. This is the longest time any superstar has spent with the company. Even superstars like Ric Flair or John Cena cannot come close to Undertaker’s time with the company. “The Deadman” made his debut in 1991 and wrestled in different characters. He retired in 2020, WrestleMania 36 being his last. However, Taker credits one of his arch rivals for prolonging his WWE career, with whom he later formed an alliance.
Undertaker credited Kane for his prolonged WWE career
The Superstar Undertaker credits is none other than WWE Hall of Famer Kane. The two had a fierce rivalry in 1997 when Kane was reintroduced as a masked character, who came in as the estranged half-brother of The Undertaker, out to take revenge on him. The two have faced each other more than five times until 2004. Later, they united as the Brothers of Destruction and became three-time tag-team champions.
Speaking in a recent Patreon exclusive Q&A, where Undertaker sat down with Kane, Undertaker credited “The Big Red Monster” for prolonging his WWE career. Undertaker said Kane’s presence helped him grow as a character, and it gave him something he could relate to.
“A big part of my career is like, if he’s not there, that just doesn’t happen. There were a lot of things that led out of us working at different times to work into different programs and different angles,” said Taker.
He further said, “I mean, it’s not just the angles and the times that we were working against each other, but even then, it allowed me to grow as a character because it gave me something I could relate to. Someone that I could relate to. That’s my flesh and blood kind of a deal. It was the only way that really worked in making me vulnerable in any way.”
Both men had a remarkable wrestling career
Taker stated that Kane’s presence made his character more vulnerable and it gave him a big push. “Without Kane, I’m a killer until I’m used up. I don’t know if I could have lasted 30 years without that storyline,” said Taker.

Just like Undertaker, Kane also had a great time in WWE from 1995 to 2018. Kane was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021. Now both of them are often seen sharing their experiences in podcast shows and interviews.
