CM Punk has always been a controversial wrestling superstar. He has had beef with big names like Vince McMahon, Tony Khan, The Rock and Triple H, but he still remains at the top of the table. The Straight Edge superstar is known for his outspoken personality and he never shies away from speaking the truth. Many WWE superstars like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens also have beef with Punk, but now that they work under the same company, they refrain from talking about him.
Booker T on having a beef with Punk
Now, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has opened up on whether he has a beef with CM Punk. The buzz about this started when the Chicago native greeted Booker T at the ringside at a recent WWE NXT show, where Punk appeared for a special promo. So people wondered if there was any animosity between the two. However, “King Booker” has now cleared the speculations. While speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, he said that there is no beef between the two.
“The thing is, CM Punk and I never really had any beef. We never did. I know people thought that when he was in AEW, but I don’t think Punk and I ever really had any beef. Have I said some things about CM Punk, especially when he was in the UFC? Yeah I did, but I don’t think I said anything derogatory or mean about CM Punk,” said the former WWE Heavyweight champion. He further stated that he didn’t like Punk’s promo because in his 10-minute promo, the Cookie Master chose to talk about WWE for nine minutes.
King Booker didn’t like Punk’s AEW debut promo
Speaking on this statement, Booker T said that he wasn’t being personal and he just have his opinion. “Even when he was in AEW, like when he made his debut. I said that the promo didn’t really impress me. I said he could have done a little bit more, and that’s just constructive criticism. It’s not meant to criticize CM Punk or anything like that,” Booker T concluded. CM Punk appeared on NXT this week for a special promo. Punk said that he will be the special guest referee for Ethan Page’s NXT title match against Trick Williams on October 1,2024, in Chicago.
