There have been many WWE icons who competed in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) before becoming legends in Vince McMahon’s WWE. Big names like The Undertaker, Triple H, Steve Austin and Mick Foley all competed in WCW, but one big name who never competed there was The Rock. He made his wrestling debut at WWE and it is the only wrestling company he has ever worked for. He made a steller run as the Final Boss this year and also became a board member of TKO. Now, Dwayne Johnson has another role as co-founder of his own film company, Seven Bucks Productions.
According to a report, Dwayne and his ex-wife and business partner, Dany Garcia, are together producing a new documentary for Vice TV named “Who Killed WCW?

Vice TV is a television channel that focuses on lifestyle-oriented documentaries and reality series for the millennial generation. It has shown the dark side of the ring several times and is now ready to display the dark side of the last days of WCW. In an interview, Johnson said that the iconic rise and fall of World Championship Wrestling is one of the most captivating stories in professional wrestling.
“With wrestling viewership and fan engagement at an all-time high, there’s never been a better time to tell high-quality wrestling stories, and there’s no better time to start than with unique behind-the-scenes footage. Check out this epic saga known as the rise and fall of WCW and personally, the rise of WCW, not the fall, inspired me greatly early in my career, where I would eventually become the Final Boss.”
WCW was quite popular in the mid-90s
This is not the first documentary that Dwayne Johnson has produced for Vice TV. He was also the executive producer of Tales from the Territories. “Who Killed WCW? Will be produced by Johnson and Garcia along with Hiram Garcia and Brian Gewirtz for Seven Bucks with Vice TV’s Lee Hoffman, Ivan Husni and Jason Eisener. The series produced by Vice Studios Canada is in association with Bell Media’s Crave.”

The series Who Killed WCW? is set to premiere on June 4 this year. It will come out in 4 parts and show both the rise and downfall of the company in an interesting way.
