A few days ago, Kevin Porter Jr. was charged with aggravated assault and strangulation. Now the Houston Rockets are looking to trade him. Porter is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick. According to a report, the Houston Rockets are willing to attach draft compensation to entice teams to make an offer. Kevin has a four-year contract of $82.5 million, but only the first year is guaranteed.
If Porter gets traded and assuming his legal issues don’t impact his NBA season, the following can be the best landing spots for him :
Brooklyn Nets

If the Brooklyn Nets want to remain competitive in the near future, they will need another shooting guard. Kevin is a good handler of the ball, he is young and will be better than Spencer Dinwiddie in the long run. The Nets need to do some playmaking and the 23-year-old will be added to their roster.
San Antonio Spurs

After signing the 19-year-old Victor Wembanyama, Spurs are in a good position. Now they just need a player who can pass the ball to their Frenchman. The Spurs also need shooting around Wembanyama to open the way for their rookie center. Kevin is a perfect fit for the team and a brilliant facilitator who can shoot and play defense.
New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans need a facilitator to allow CJ McCollum to move back to his shooting guard position. McCollum is trying his best to play the facilitator role, but he has excelled at the shooting guard position. Additionally, Brandon Ingram has refused to sign an extension and may be leaving soon. Porter would be an ideal player for the team.
Chicago Bulls

The Bulls decided to go on with Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan and now their biggest needs are shooting and a guard who can control the offense. Relieving the ball-handling responsibilities from Zach and DeMar is important. Kevin is excellent at both playmaking and shooting. Although he will have to come off the bench most of the time, this will make the Bulls backcourt strong.
Los Angeles Lakers

During the Western Conference Finals, the Lakers realized D’Angelo Russell would not help them get over the hump. His shooting form dropped off, especially in high-pressure moments. His defense was also poor when it mattered most. Porter would be an ideal addition for the Lakers. In the last season, he was the best shooter for the Rockets, so James can use more shooting around him. His defense is also much better than Russell’s. Having the youngster will definitely benefit the Lakers.
