The customary inter-school Subroto Cup football competition in India will start on September 19 and take place in three cities, including Bengaluru. Over 100 schools to compete in Subroto Cup From September 19
The list of host cities for the 2018 Subroto Cup International Football Tournament, which will take place from September 19 to October 23 at three sites, has been expanded to include Bengaluru.
The oldest inter-school football competition in the country used to take place in Delhi and Gurugram.
The national capital region of Delhi will host the U-17 junior boys and girls competitions, while Bengaluru’s ASC Centre, Air Force Schools Jalahalli, and Yehalanka will host the U-14 sub-junior boys tournament.
The Ambedkar Stadium, Tejas Football Ground, Subroto Football Ground, and the GD Goenka School will all host games during the Delhi-NCR leg.
Three age divisions will include a total of 109 teams from 27 states and Union Territories. Teams from Bangladesh and Nepal were also invited this time.
There will be 180 matches overall, divided among the various age groups.
In the junior boys division, Pilgrim Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, Nagaland, is the champion, and in the junior girls division, St. Patrick’s School, Gumla, Jharkhand, is the reigning winner.

The sub-junior boys division champions are Heirok Higher Secondary School, Imphal (Manipur).
The 62nd edition of the competition, which will take place in Bengaluru in the southern Indian city of India for the first time, will be historic, according to Air Marshal RK Anand, vice-chairman of the Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society.
According to Vice-Chairman of the Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society Air Marshal RK Anand, “We have wanted to extend the scope of this competition to other regions of the nation. Because it will be held in Bengaluru for the first time, the 62nd Subroto Cup will be historic.”
The SportsCast India YouTube channel will broadcast the Subroto Cup live. Its highlights will be shown on the YouTube channels for Prasar Bharti and AIFF.
