Stuart Law had previously coached USA © Getty Former Australia batter Stuart Law has been appointed as the new head coach of the Nepal men’s cricket team on a two-year contract. The 56-year-old takes over from Monty Desai, whose tenure ended earlier this year after guiding Nepal to their second T20 World Cup appearance. This will be Law’s latest international coaching stint after spells with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, West Indies and Afghanistan. Most recently, he coached USA, where his tenure lasted only seven months out of a three-year contract. Law’s first assignment with Nepal will be the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series in June, where Nepal face Scotland and the Netherlands in Scotland. Nepal currently sit second-last in the League 2 standings with just two wins in 12 matches. Law, who played one Test and 54 ODIs for Australia, is expected to arrive in Nepal in the coming week to begin his role.
