SRH have unveiled a brand New Jersey for the IPL 2024 on March 7. They have given a fresh look to their outfit from the last few years hoping for a turnaround in fortunes after ending last season on last position.
What does the New Jersey of SRH look like?
The Orange army stuck with orange black threads of the old jersey but designed it identically to the high SEC from the SA20 league. Sunrisers Eastern Cape Town led by Aiden Markram won both editions of SA20 & the management would aim they replicate the same win in this season of the Indian Premier League.
SRH gave their fans a sneak peek into their new jersey by sharing its photo on their Instagram handle. The post features Buhvneshwar Kumar sporting their gleaming new jersey.
IPL 2024 will kickstart on March 22, 2024
The much-awaited IPL 2024 is all set to kickstart on March 22. While Sunrisers Hyderabad will begin their campaign against KKR on March 23.
Meanwhile, SRH has appointed Pat Cummins as the new captain of the team replacing Aiden Markram. The move was expected from SRH after they bought the services of Australian Captain for a huge 20.50 crores in the IPL 2024 auction. The aim of appointing Cummins as the Captain of the franchise is to make sure that Cummins brings his expertise to the team & helps them lift the much-awaited title this season. Notably, Cummins is the captain of the 2023 Champions team who has lifted the coveted World Cup trophy.
What are the major highlights of SRH Squad ahead of IPL 2024
Sunrisers Hyderabad made some strategic moves in the IPL auction to strengthen their team. They secured the services of Australian opener Travis Head for a hefty sum of 6.8 crores after engaging in a bidding war with CSK, who eventually backed out. This acquisition fills the gap for a reliable opener in their lineup. Additionally, to bolster their bowling unit following Rashid Khan’s departure, SRH invested in seasoned leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga for a reasonable price of 1.5 crores. Interestingly, there were no other takers for Hasaranga, allowing SRH to secure his services without much competition.
Sunrisers Hyderabad recognized the need for experienced Indian players in their predominantly youthful squad, with only Bhuvneshwar Kumar providing significant experience. To address this, they acquired the services of Jaydev Unadkat for 1.6 crore, adding valuable experience to their lineup. Additionally, SRH signed uncapped players Akash Singh and Jhatavedh Subramaniam for their base prices of INR 20 lakh each, further bolstering their squad with promising talent. Overall ARH Squad looks potent & favorite to win the upcoming season of IPL 2024.
