Before the Legends League game between the India Capitals and Gujarat Giants on Wednesday, Gambhir shared a photo of himself grinning while wearing an Indian jersey. The caption read, “Smile when the world is all about attention!” and was a subtle jab at Sreesanth’s predicament.

“You have exceeded the boundaries of a sportsman and a brother, and above all, you represent the people,” Sreesanth remarked under the post. And yet, you still argue with every cricket player. What is wrong with you? I just smiled and watched, and you called me a fixer? Really? Do you think you are above the court? You don’t have the right to talk like this and say anything you want. You even called the umpires names, and you talk about smiling? You are a haughty, completely uncultured person who has little regard for the people who have stood by you.
I always respected you and your family, up until yesterday. But you called me a “fixer” seven or eight times, to use a disparaging term. You tried so hard to get under my skin that you even went so far as to call the umpires and my names. Nobody who has gone through what I have will ever be able to forgive you. You know deep down that what you said and did was incorrect. Even God, I’m sure, won’t pardon you. After that, you didn’t even visit the field. God is watching everything, so come on!” the forty-year-old exclaimed.

Interestingly, Irfan Pathan, a former Indian bowler, left a terse “Best answer” remark in response to Gambhir’s post.
During their heated discussion during the match, Sreesanth disclosed to him what Gambhir had said to him in an emotional video that he uploaded on his Instagram channel on Thursday morning.
“You’re a fixer, fixer, fixer… Fixer, you f**k off. In a live Instagram video posted on his handle, Sreesanth disclosed, “He kept saying that.” On live television in the middle of the wicket, he continued to refer to me as that. He spoke in this manner on live television. In an attempt to subdue him, he repeated the same act in front of the umpires. I did not say a single bad word or abusive word at him. All I could say was, “What are you saying?” I then chuckled sarcastically,” Sreesanth continued.
