Before the IND vs PAK clash a pre-match ceremony was organized by the BCCI which was also termed as ODI World Cup Opening Ceremony. As per our reports initially the Official Broadcaster of ODI World Cup 2023 has reported about the telecasting of the entire event. But much to our surprise the event was not televised in India or abroad. The fans who are enjoying the epic IND vs PAK clash right from the comforts of their home were eagerly waiting to see Arjit Singh, Sukhwinder Singh & Shankar Mahadevan perform LIVE at the Narendra Modi Stadium. But ending their excitement the opening ceremony was not telecasted LIVE for the fans across the globe.
Star Sports released an Official Statement on Social Media, and Twitter informing the fans that the ceremony was only for the fans who had made it to the stadium.
Star Sports tweeted, “The ceremony at the Narendra Modi Stadium before match 12 of ICC Men’s CWC 2023 (India Vs Pakistan) has been planned for in-stadia fans. There ceremony is not for broadcast.”
The ceremony was held before the toss at 12.30 pm while the toss happened at 1.30 which was won by India who decided to bowl first. Ahmedabad is a pitch suitable for chase because of the dew factor that comes into the picture in the evening. Further Shubman Gill returned to the Playing XI after recovering from dengue. He has been replaced by Ishan Kishan at the top order.

The epic India vs Pakistan fixture kickstarted with India winning the toss & opting to bowl first. Bowling first Indian bowlers were on their toes right from the first over, Initially Pakistani openers provided them with a stable scoring of 41-2 in the powerplay overs. But then came Indian bowlers who restricted their run-flow by first dismissing Shafique for 20 runs followed by Imam-Ul-Haq by 36 runs. Their efforts helped to reduce Pakistan to 73-2. After that Babar Azam (50 off 58) & Mohammed Rizwan (49 off 69) steadied Pakistan’s ship. But fiery spells from Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep & Bumrah meant Pakistan reduced to 171-7 with Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar, Shadab & Rizwan all back to the pavilion. Pakistan’s hope is from Shadab Khan & Mohammad Nawaz who could deliver runs at the lower order.
