AUS vs WI 3rd T20I: West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell put on a show with the bat in the third and final T20I against Australia on Tuesday at Perth. Russell played a sensational knock of 71 runs in just 29 deliveries at a strike rate of 244.83. He hit four fours and as many as seven sixes during his knock.
The West Indies cricketer came out to bat when his team had lost five wickets for just 79 runs in 8.4 overs. The all-rounder soaked in the pressure wonderfully and put on a match-winning partnership of 139 runs in 66 deliveries for the sixth wicket with Sherfane Rutherford.
Russell Smashes Zampa for 28 Runs in 19th Over
He turned into a beast mode in the 19th over of Adam Zampa. The 35-year-old exhibited his muscle power as he struck as many as four sixes to Zampa in a single over. On the first ball of the 19th over, Zampa went short and Russell hit that over long on for a flat six.
It was followed with a dot and a four on the second and third ball, respectively. Zampa then delivered a full delivery on the fourth ball of the over and Russell launched that over long-on for another maximum.
The West Indies cricketer reached his half-century after hitting the third six of the over on the fifth ball. Zampa bowled a delivery wide outside off but still Russell managed to hit a six. He went down on one knee and hit it over deep extra cover for a six.
The WI batter finished the over with another six over long off, thereby, amassing 28 runs from the over. His brilliant knock of 71 runs in just 29 balls helped the team post a gigantic score of 220 runs at the end of the first innings. Sherfane Rutherford also gave him brilliant support as he blazed his way to 67 off 40 balls.

In pursuit of the target, Australia were restricted to 183 in 20 overs, thereby, falling 37 runs short of the target. David Warner played another gem of an innings, scoring 81 off 49 balls. However, he found little support from the other end.
Tim David contributed 41 off 19 towards the end but that wasn’t going to be enough. As for West Indies bowling, Roston Chase was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 2 for 19 in 4 overs. Romario Shepherd was brilliant with the ball as he picked two vital wickets for Aaron Hardie and Glenn Maxwell.
The West Indies all-rounder finished with the figures of 2 for 31 as West Indies beat Australia by 37 runs.
