The UFC President has revealed about UFC Austin on X, which will mark the promotion’s return to Texas. The event will be held on December 2, and it will be the third-last UFC event of the year. It will be hosted at Moody Arena in Austin, Texas. Additionally, Dana also revealed that the ticket sale will start on November 3. However, the more significant revelation involves the fighters Dana has selected for the card.

The main event features an exciting impact matchup between Benil Dariush and Arman Zarukyan. The co-main event featured another 155-pound bout, this time between Dan Hooker and Bobby Green. With the exception of Beneil Dariush, all fighters who have competed in UFC Austin’s last two bouts are coming off wins, with Tsarukyan currently riding a two-fight win streak, with the last one coming by TKO of Jaaquim Silva. Similarly, Dan Hooker is also on a two-fight win streak, most recently defeating Jalin Turner via split decision. Like his opponent, Bobby Green is also on a two-fight win streak, with back-to-back wins over Tony Ferguson and Grant Dawson. With everyone else riding a two-fight win streak, Benil Dariush is an odd man out. He is coming off a one-sided first round TKO loss to Charles Oliveira, and will aim to return to form at UFC Austin.
Previous card featured pitched battles
UFC Austin will represent the first time the promotion has held an event in the Texan capital in 2023, as it was last held in Austin on June 18, 2022, with UFC on ESPN 37. That card featured an interesting battle between Calvin Kattar and Josh Emmett. It also featured Kevin Holland showcasing his dynamic finishing skills as he defeated Tim Means in the second round via D’Arce choke. While the UFC has held several Fight Night events in Austin, it has never held a pay-per-view in the city.
