In a surprising turn of events, Mumbai Indians stalwart Rohit Sharma has decided to part ways with the franchise at the end of IPL 2024. This decision comes amidst reports of discontentment with the team’s atmosphere under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, who replaced Rohit as the captain for this season. Allegedly, Rohit is dissatisfied with Pandya’s leadership style and the overall environment in the dressing room. Additionally, there are rumors of factionalism within the MI camp, with players aligning themselves either with Rohit or Hardik.

The transition in captaincy hasn’t been smooth, with both fans and Rohit himself expressing disappointment in how it was handled by the Mumbai Indians management. Hardik Pandya, in particular, has faced criticism from fans, who have resorted to booing him during matches. The pressure on Pandya intensified after the team’s string of losses, which were partly attributed to some unsuccessful tactical decisions made by him. As tensions rise within the MI camp, the future of the team remains uncertain. With three losses from three matches, Mumbai Indians are lagging at the bottom of the Points table with 0 points in their kitty.
