SRH IPL 2024 Full Squad: Sunrisers Hyderabad entered the IPL 2024 auction with the quench of filling the void in their squad. And they effectively did that by grabbing some biggies of World Cricket. SRH entered the auction with the second largest purse of INR 34 crore & they managed to redefine their team dynamics & fill the void which resulted in luster performance last year.
First Sunrisers Hyderabad made a major move to acquire the services of Aussie Captain Pat Cummins. They broke the bank & acquired star pacer Cummins for a huge 20.5 crore after indulging in a bidding war with Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore & Mumbai Indians. The absence of a reliable opening pair was felt after releasing David Warner & poor performances of Harry Brook in the last season.
After Cummins SRH went for Travis Head
They needed a reliable opener who could provide them with an ideal start. And SRH was successful in finding that in the face of Aussies star opener Travis Head. They were successful in grabbing Head’s services for a whopping 6.8 crores. SRH was in a bidding war with CSK but soon the Yellove Army gave up their bid in the auction process which benefited SRH from getting Head for a decent salary of 6.8 crores.
Now addressing the void in their bowling department which was created with the departure of Rashid, SRH went for Wanindu Hasaranga. And they successfully got the services of a seasoned leg spinner for a decent price of 1.5 crores. This is because no other franchise entered the bid process for Hasaranga & the Lankan pacer went to Sunrisers Hyderabad for 1.5 crores.
Sunrisers Hyderabad retained key Players ahead of IPL 2024 Auction
SRH was lacking in the presence of renowned Indian Internationals & had just Bhuvneshwar to add experience to their lineup dominated by young talents in the face of Umran Malik and Mayank Markande. So adding that much-needed experience they got the services of Unadkat for 1.6 crore. Uncapped player Akash Singh was picked by SRH for a base price of INR 20 lakh, and Jhatavedh Subramaniam was recruited for a base price of INR 20 lakh.
Sunrisers Hyderabad had a plan of making the IPL 2023 Auction successful & they did that by making some remarkable purchases in the auction. They retained 19 players while releasing six. With the motive of filling the vacant six slots, SRH traded Shahbaz Ahmed from RCB. Sunrisers Hyderabad maintained their initial lineup by retaining players like Heinrich Klaasen, Marco Jansen, Glenn Phillips, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Aiden Markram. And the latest additions to the squad are like a jackpot deal that addresses all their shortcomings & makes them potent for the IPL 2024 season.
