The current WWE Heavyweight and Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, wrestled his first match after defeating Jey Uso at SummerSlam on August 6, 2023. The Tribal Chief recently made a big comeback in WWE SmackDown. The show ended with Roman standing over LA Knight as the massive crowd booed him out of the building. On the Smackdown night, Reigns faced his former rival Sami Zayn and in the end, it was The Big Dog who emerged victorious over the crowd favorite following the interference from The Bloodline.
Knight interfered in the match
The Tribal Chief competed against Sami Zayn in a singles match and defended his WWE Universal Championship. This was Reigns’ first match at a WWE SuperShow live event in 84 days. Reigns launched a vicious attack on Zayn that made Knight interfere in the match. The Megastar leapt to save Sami from the attack, after which The Master Strategist endorsed Knight amid loud applause. LA Knight was also in action when he took on Jimmy Uso in a single match earlier that night. Knight won the match via disqualification after interference from Solo Sequoia.
The Universal Champion has set eyes on Knight
It seems like the Universal Champion has now set his sights on LA Knight. After his attack on the 40-year-old WWE star, it is highly believed that Roman Reigns will be fighting Knight in the future. It has been more than 1000 days since Roman won the Universal Title. He also won the WWE title by defeating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania last year.
Who will end Roman’s reign ?
Reigns is in tremendous form at the moment, and there seems to be no one on the WWE roster currently who can stop him. The Bloodline imploded in 2023, with Jey Uso leaving the table to become a single star. However, the faction is still going strong on WWE SmackDown. Now WWE fans can only wait to see if someone comes forward and ends Roman’s reign as WWE’s champion.
