Jadeja Declared Fit for Rajkot Test, Boost for India as England Face Visa Concerns

Ravindra Jadeja’s hamstring woes are behind him, as the experienced all-rounder is confirmed available for the crucial third Test against England starting Thursday in Rajkot. This news comes as a significant boost for the Indian team, seeking to regain momentum and solidify spin bowling attack.

Jadeja sustained the injury during the first Test in Hyderabad, which England convincingly won. His absence in the second Test was felt, as India’s spin attack lacked his bite. However, spinner Kuldeep Yadav confirmed on Tuesday that Jadeja has made a full recovery and is training at full intensity.

“He’s doing his routine. He did one session yesterday as well. I think he’s available,” Yadav told reporters.

Jadeja’s return presents a selection headache for the Indian team management. With KL Rahul also ruled out due to a quadriceps injury, Kuldeep or Axar Patel might have to make way. However, the possibility of fielding all three spinners remains open, especially considering the spin-friendly conditions in Rajkot.

“I’m not sure about my position because there’s still two days to go for the match,” said Yadav, showcasing his team-first mentality. “If I get the opportunity, I’ll be more than happy.”

India’s preparations have been further hampered by absence of KL Rahul who will not be participating in the third test. Also, Virat Kohli will continue to miss the series due to personal reasons.

England, meanwhile, are grappling with their own set of challenges. Their key spinner Jack Leach has been ruled out due to a knee injury, leaving a significant void in their bowling attack.

Additionally, young spinner Rehan Ahmed’s participation remains uncertain due to visa issues that arose after the team’s mid-series break in Abu Dhabi.

Despite these setbacks, England remain confident and are looking to build on their dominant performance in the first Test. The match at Rajkot will be 100th career test match for Ben Stokes.
