Punjab had a record-breaking day against Andhra Pradesh at Ranchi in a runfest. Abhishek Sharma, Punjab’s opener, set the stage for a remarkable innings with a half-century in just 25 balls, and Punjab reached the 100-run mark in a mere 8.5 overs.
From there, there was no turning back. The following 6.1 overs saw Punjab adding another 100 runs, and Abhishek Sharma went on to score a stunning century in only 42 balls. The onslaught continued even after Abhishek’s dismissal, having scored 112 runs in 51 balls.
The 25-year-old Anmolpreet Singh added to the woes of the already struggling Andhra Pradesh bowling attack, accumulating 87 runs in just 26 balls, including 9 sixes.
