Shah mentioned during a media interaction that Shami has undergone surgery and is now back in India. He also hinted that Shami might make his return during the upcoming home series against Bangladesh. On another note, Shah informed that KL Rahul had to undergo an injection but has now started his rehabilitation at the NCA.

Rishabh Pant will return for IPL 2024

Jay Shah has also given an update on the return of Rishabh Pant. Jay Shah has cleared the air on Rishabh Pant’s return. He said that Pant will make a comeback to cricket with IPL 2024. Pant has been out of action since a horrific car accident in December 2022. But the prolific wicketkeeper batter has completed his rehabilitation & will soon return to the field.
“He is batting well, he is keeping well. We will declare him fit very soon. If he can play in the T20 World Cup for us, that will be a big thing for us. He is a big asset for us.”If he can keep, he can play in the World Cup. Let’s see how he does in the IPL,” said Shah.
The tragic car accident had resulted in Pant suffering a series of knee injuries that required ligament reconstruction surgery besides a fractured wrist and ankle. But he has done well to bounce back & has shown a great recovery. Delhi Capitals Head Coach, Ricky Ponting has also stated that he would participate in the league & they will extend his full support.
Jay Shah has also opened up about foreign investment in IPL.
When BCCI SEcretary was asked about foreign investment he said that it is not possible as BCCI is a society & not a company.
“BCCI is a society and nobody can invest in it,” Shah asserted.
There have been reports that Saudi Arabia was planning to make a multi-dollar investment in the IPL 2024. But as per Jay Shah a registered society cannot accept foreign investment without the approval of the central government and the Reserve Bank of India.
