WWE Superstar Spectacle held in India on September 8 saw many top WWE Superstars fighting in the ring. The event was charmed by The Great Khali, who teased his return to the ring. The 51-year-old was inducted to WWE Hall of Fame in 2021. He made his WWE debut in 2006 and made several appearances for the company. In 2015, Khali opened the Continental Wrestling Entertainment promotion which became the largest professional wrestling promotion in India.
The former WWE Star called out Khali
When Khali appeared in the Superstar Spectacle, which was held in Hyderabad, he got an amazing response from the audience. The former World Heavyweight Champion teased the crowd by saying that he probably had one more match left and that a former superstar had volunteered himself as his final opponent. Matt Cardona, who was formerly known as Zack Ryder, took X to call out Khali. He responded to a video of Khali’s promo and called out the Veteran on social media. Matt wrote “I want @greatkhali”. In the past, Matt has claimed that his Zack Ryder persona was dead. It will definitely be interesting to see if he gets an opportunity to return to the company in the future.
Natalya also wanted Khali to return
WWE Diva Natalya was hopeful that Khali would return to the company before the Superstar Spectacle event. “The Punjabi Playboy” was also a part of a famous rivalry against John Cena and The Undertaker during his WWE career. Ahead of the Superstar Spectacle, Natalaya stated in an interview that she was hoping to see Khali at the event and said that he is loved so much in India.
“I would love to see Khali come back. He is a very great friend of mine. He is beloved in India and he is also a WWE Hall of Famer. Khali is a very special person. You think about the work he’s done in WWE, but also think about the work he’s done in Hollywood”, said Natalaya.
