Two of the biggest businessmen and billionaires, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, have been a hot topic on social media for the past few months after teasing about possible MMA bouts against each other. Netizens have been eagerly waiting for this much anticipated contest, but it seems like now the contest is not happening because the Tesla CEO has revealed his chat with Mark Zuckerberg.
Elon shared a screenshot of his chat
The Meta CEO texted Elon that he should practice at home if he wants a real MMA bout and said he doesn’t want to publicize something that will never happen. Mark also mentioned that if he really wants a fight, “then do it quickly, or should we move on”. To this, Musk responded, “I’ll be in Palo Alto on Monday. Let’s fight in your Octagon. Other than a brief bout with Lex Friedman today, I haven’t been practicing much. While I think it’s highly unlikely, perhaps given our size difference, you are a modern Bruce Lee and will win somehow”.
Both Musk and Zuck have spent most of this summer teasing about the bout, which has generated interest not only among mixed martial arts fans but also among those who don’t even watch the sport. Things looked in the right direction last week, and fans almost got this MMA bout, but now it looks like the contest will be scrapped.
The UFC President expressed his desire to promote the match
When these businessmen teased about squaring off against each other in an MMA match, UFC President Dana White expressed his interest in promoting the contest. Although the Tesla CEO recently shared that the fight will take place without the help of a big promotion. He tweeted that the fight will be managed by him and Zuck’s foundation, not the UFC. Elon also stated that the fight will be livestreamed on Twitter and Meta. Zuck immediately took to Twitter and responded to Musk’s tweet, claiming nothing had been agreed upon.
