The Los Angeles Lakers were one of the most dynamic teams in the NBA this offseason, and it seems their revamped roster has surpassed the Lakers, which were led by former Lakers Legend Magic Johnson. Recently, Johnson was also asked in an interview, How good can this team get until next season? He stated that with their added depth, it looks like they will win the 2024 NBA title.
“This is a Western Conference Championship team. If we can stay healthy, we can really win everything. This team has a real shot. We’ve got three guys to stay healthy: LeBron, Eddie, and D’Angelo. But with this team, it allows them to take longer breaks because we’ve got guys who can put it in the basket.” -said Johnson

Magic warned that it would not be easy for LA
Despite showing hope for the Lakers, Magic later warned that it would not be easy for them to win the championship next year as there would be very stiff competition ahead of them. He stated that the defending champion Denver Nuggets are still considered the favorites for the 2024 title. During the interview, Magic was also asked how he thinks LA Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka has fared this offseason, to which he replied that Pelinka impressed us once again after his successful trade deadline moves, which helped LA reach the playoffs.
The Lakers have lost some players from the roster
Lakers’ offseason additions include Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, and Cam Reddish, who play the roles of point guard, wings, and offensive, respectively. The roster also has 23-year-old Jackson Hayes, who is the power forward for the team. The Lakers lost some rotation-caliber players like Dennis Schroder, Lonnie Walker IV, and Malik Beasley, who were the point guards of the team, as well as center Mo Bamba. However, many analysts agree that overall the team has made improvements to their roster, as they were able to make it to the Western Conference Finals last season.
