Luka Doncic achieves 3 milestones in the game against Jazz

Luka Doncic has played six NBA seasons till now and has already made his name in the history of the league. He has been an incredible player for the Dallas Mavericks and has recently reached several milestones against the Utah Jazz. He scored his third triple-double of the 2023–24 season and there are still 62 games to go before the playoffs for the Mavericks. So far, the Slovenian player has averaged 31.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 1.3 steals in 18 games played. 

Passed Larry Bird in the All-time list 

Luka Doncic’s triple-double against the Utah Jazz is the 60th of his career. Now he is one triple-double above Larry Bird and is in 9th place on the all-time list. Next, he can chase 78, which is held by the legendary player Wilt Chamberlain. The three active players in the NBA who rank above Doncic currently are James Harden, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic and Russell Westbrook.

5th quickest TD in NBA history 

Triple-doubles are becoming a huge trend in the NBA and now Doncic is a threat in every game to produce such performances, with few other players capable of doing the same. His triple-double against the Jazz is the 5th fastest in NBA history. Above him is Nikola Jokic, who made the fastest with 14.33 minutes, Jim Tucker with 17 minutes, Russell Westbrook with 17.35 minutes and Nikola Jokic again the fastest with 18 minutes. 

First Player to score a 25-point Triple-Double 

There have been many players in the NBA who reached triple-doubles by halftime, but the special thing about Doncic’s performance was that he had 29 points at the end of the first half. He continued to add points, reaching 40 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds by the end of the third quarter, with the game already out of hand for the Utah Jazz. In the end, the Mavericks won the game 147–97.
