On Sunday night, Lebron James smashed a season-high 37 points for the Lakers in the game against the Houston Rockets. The team got a 105-104 win and James proved that he is still in great shape despite being 38 years old. Lakers fans were amazed by his performance, to the extent that some even started taking shots at the legend Michael Jordan. King James finished the game with 37 points, six rebounds, eight assists and three steals. The game was tied when Terry Eason fouled James.
Lakers fans are happy as the team moved up
LeBron missed the first attempt but came back on the second attempt to give the Lakers a one-point lead. Dillon Brooks had the chance to win the game at the buzzer, but he missed. Now the Lakers have moved up to sixth place in the Western standings. Their fans were happy that the team has started winning games again after a slow start to the season. James has been one of the best players in the league this season and is leading his team to greater wins.
The twitter is filled with praise for King James
The fans flooded Twitter with praise for James and some even mentioned that he is better than Jordan and Kevin Durant. One of the fans reminded the NBA fans that James is just five points away from 39,000 points. The four-time champion will most probably score these points in the next game and become the first and only player in NBA history to have 39k+ points.
The veteran is giving consistent performances
As mentioned above, Lebron scored 37 points in the game against the Houston Rockets. This was his second consecutive game in which he scored 35 or more points. In the previous game against the Portland Trail Blazers, he scored 35 points, five rebounds, nine assists and two steals. These are amazing stats and great for his legacy, but he is doing something that may not be sustainable in the long run. He may have more durability than most 38-year-old athletes, but James will need to pace himself if he wants to help the Lakers get through an entire season.
