Jaydev Unadkat Earns Rare Record in IPL Tournament History

India’s left-arm seamer, Jaydev Unadkat has had a pretty exciting career in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He made his first steps in IPL in the 2010 edition and has played for several franchises, since.

On Wednesday, Jaydev Unadkat made his debut for SRH and, thereby, surpassed Manish Pandey to become the Indian player to play for the most number of franchises in the IPL.

Aaron Finch currently holds the record for playing for the highest number of franchises i.e., 9. Jaydev Unadkat began his IPL career with KKR in the 2008 edition of the league. He then moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore followed by Delhi Capitals before making a brief return to KKR.

The left-arm seamer has also plied his trade for Rising Pune Supergiants, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, and Lucknow Super Giants. In total, he has played for eight franchises in the Indian Premier League. Manish Pandey previously held the record, having played for seven different franchises.

The likes of Dinesh Karthik, Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Irfan Pathan, Parthiv Patel, and Ishant Sharma have played for six different franchises each.

Jaydev Unadkat Took 2/47 Against Mumbai Indians

Jaydev Unadkat, meanwhile, impressed with the ball in his debut outing for Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday. SRH batted first and notched the highest-ever total in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Travis Head (62 off 24) and Abhishek Sharma (63 off 23) provided a scintillating start, while the likes of Markram (42 off 28) and Klaasen (80 off 34) capitalized on that wonderfully.

In pursuit of the target, MI also went all guns blazing at the start. However, Jaydev Unadkat came up with vital breakthroughs in the middle overs to break the momentum. In a high-scoring affair, Jaydev Unadkat returned with handy figures of 2 for 47 in four overs.

Mumbai Indians managed to score 246 runs in their 20 overs, losing the match by 31 runs. With that win, SRH reached the third spot on the points table with one win in two matches.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have made a pretty bad start, losing both games played thus far.
