Jake Paul reacts to Mike Tyson’s Boxing training sessions

Jake Paul is stunned after watching the training footage of the boxing legend Mike Tyson. The 58-year-old former heavyweight champion is set to return to the ring to face “The Problem Child” on July 20 on Netflix, giving fans a mix of excitement and concern. The anticipation for the fight is clear with Tyson sharing glimpses of his rigorous training regimen across social media platforms. However, the intensity of Tyson’s punches has caused not only fans but also Paul himself to question the wisdom of the match.

Paul’s girlfriend is concerned for him

During a segment on his podcast, Paul saw the footage of Tyson’s recent training sessions and also his preparation for the 2020 bout against Roy Jones Jr., which showcased Tyson’s raw power. The scene seemed to rattle Jake, who leaned forward to examine the punches closely. His girlfriend, Jutta Leerdam, expressed concern about the possible outcome of the Paul vs. Tyson match.

“What if he knocks you out?” Leerdam asked, expressing her apprehension about the dangers of facing off against the veteran boxing heavyweight icon.

In response, Paul, while maintaining his humor, suggested a simple solution: “Just look away.” She responded, “That will not be good, babe,” indicating her genuine concern for Paul’s well-being in the ring. Jake had already acknowledged the difficult challenge ahead and admitted that, regardless of age, Tyson is the toughest he will face. Despite widespread criticism of the proposed fight, Paul expressed gratitude for the attention it brought to the fight and expressed confidence in his ability to withstand Tyson’s power.

Tyson returned because the price was right

During the recent Champions Gala Dinner, the media’s inquiries led to a revealing statement from “Iron Mike” regarding his stance on returning to the ring, particularly in light of John Fury’s actions and the possibility of a match against Tyson Fury’s father. In response, Tyson indicated his disinterest in engaging in such promotional activities and said, “I don’t do that stuff any more. I only fight for money, okay.”

Addressing the continued speculation over a possible comeback, Tyson remained pragmatic, saying, “Everybody wants me to fight an exhibition.” He will only fight when the price is right. His comments provide insight into his current priorities and motivations, highlighting the financial aspect as an important factor in any potential return to the sport.
